Ingredient Spotlight: Why We Choose the Oils We Do
At NABA, ingredients are never an afterthought.
Each oil is chosen with intention — not for marketing, not for trend, but for what it contributes to the health of the scalp and hair over time.
We don’t believe in long ingredient lists or unnecessary complexity. Instead, we focus on a small number of oils that have been trusted for generations and are now supported by modern research.
Castor Oil
Castor oil has long been used to strengthen hair at the root. Thick and nutrient-dense, it’s valued for its ability to support circulation and reinforce weakened follicles. Traditionally, it was used sparingly and massaged into the scalp to encourage growth and reduce shedding — not for instant results, but for long-term resilience.
Rosemary Oil
Rosemary isn’t included for fragrance. Historically, it was used to stimulate the scalp and awaken circulation. Today, studies suggest rosemary oil may support hair growth by improving blood flow to the follicles. When used consistently and in the right concentration, it helps create an environment where healthy hair can thrive.
Black Seed Oil
Often referred to as a protective oil, black seed has been used for centuries across the Middle East and North Africa. It’s known for supporting scalp balance, calming irritation, and protecting against dryness. In traditional routines, it was valued not for shine, but for maintaining scalp health under harsh conditions.
Jojoba Oil
Jojoba is unique because it closely resembles the scalp’s natural sebum. This allows it to moisturise without clogging pores or overwhelming the skin. It helps regulate oil production, making it especially beneficial for both dry and oily scalps when used consistently.
Neem Oil
Neem has a long history in Ayurvedic and herbal traditions. It was used to keep the scalp clean, calm irritation, and support overall scalp health. While potent, it plays an important role in helping rebalance stressed or sensitive scalps when used thoughtfully.
Argan & Sweet Almond Oils
These oils are traditionally used to protect and soften the hair lengths. Rich in fatty acids and vitamins, they help reduce dryness, improve elasticity, and add natural shine without coating the hair in synthetic films.
