Argan oil comes from the kernels of a tree native to south-west Morocco. Oil-making knowledge has passed between generations in rural communities, particularly through women. It naturally contains oleic and linoleic fatty acids and tocopherols, a form of vitamin E.
Olive-derived squalane
Olive squalane
A lighter expression of the olive.
Olive-derived squalane gives a familiar botanical a modern form. Made from olive-oil fractions, it is a stable derivative of squalene, used as an emollient for its silky, light feel. It is a different ingredient from olive oil.
The olives pictured represent the botanical source. Squalane is not olive oil.

Rosemary
Familiar herb. Growing interest.
Rosemary brings a distinctive herbal scent. Researchers have also studied rosemary preparations in hair care. One small trial compared rosemary oil with 2% minoxidil over six months. Both groups had higher hair counts at six months, but the study does not establish that rosemary is an equivalent treatment.
The study tested a specific rosemary preparation. It does not establish that Crown treats hair loss.

Peppermint
Freshness, with a cooling character.
Peppermint essential oil is known for its menthol-rich aroma and cooling sensation. Research into peppermint oil and hair follicles includes animal studies; those findings cannot tell us whether a finished hair oil promotes growth in people.

Pumpkin seed oil
Small seeds. A rich oil.
Pumpkin seeds yield an oil containing unsaturated fatty acids and tocopherols. Interest in hair research includes a human trial of an oral supplement. That route is different from applying an oil to the hair.

Black seed oil
A connection to Islamic tradition.
Black seed has a longstanding place in Islamic herbal tradition and is mentioned in prophetic teachings. Modern studies have investigated its constituents, including thymoquinone. This is part of the ingredient's story, rather than evidence of a medical benefit from a finished hair oil.
